Editorial Policy and Corrections
How pages on this site are researched, written, checked, dated and corrected.
Principles
- Accuracy before everything. A page is not published until its numbers are checked. Calculation pages are published only when the tool fully works.
- One page per real task. The site does not publish near-duplicate pages for keyword variations, locations or individual dimensions.
- Show the working. Formulas, conventions and assumptions appear next to results, not hidden behind them.
- Honest scope. Code values are presented as references with edition and section, never as approval of a specific stair.
Research and sources
Code and standard values come from official sources (ICC, US Access Board, OSHA) read directly, with the access date recorded on the sources page. Text is paraphrased; copyrighted code text and tables are not reproduced. Where a value could not be verified from a primary source, it is left out and listed as omitted.
Use of AI tools
AI tools helped research sources, draft text and write code. They are not treated as a source of facts. Every numeric claim on the site is either produced by the tested calculation engine, re-derived in an automated test, or taken from a cited primary source that was read. Drafts are edited for accuracy and plain language before publishing.
Review
Pages are reviewed by the publisher against the tests and sources. No licensed engineer, architect or code official reviews the content, and the site does not claim professional review. If that changes, the reviewer and the scope of their review will be named on the affected pages.
Dates
Pages show a date only when their content was published or meaningfully changed. Dates are never refreshed automatically. Pages that cite codes keep a short review history.
Corrections
- Report a problem to support@blissom.app with the page, your inputs and what you expected.
- Reports of calculation errors are treated as the highest priority. If an error could affect a build, the tool is fixed or taken down first, and explained afterwards.
- Confirmed errors are corrected, a test is added so the error cannot return, and the change is noted in the page's change history or on the methodology change history.
Advertising and independence
The site currently carries no advertising, affiliate links or sponsored content. If that changes, it will be disclosed on the affected pages and will not change calculation results or recommendations.
